http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ ... 2311.storySmall amounts of cesium-137 and cesium-134 were detected in 15 tuna caught near San Diego in August 2011, about four months after these chemicals were released into the water off Japan's east coast, scientists reported on Monday.
That is months earlier than wind and water currents brought debris from the plant to waters off Alaska and the U.S. Pacific Northwest.
http://enenews.com/california-2500-bqkg ... sts-canadaSouthern California had 2,500 Bq/kg of iodine-131 in seaweed — Over 500% higher than other tests in U.S., Canada
Messungen vom April 2011:
http://enenews.com/strawberries-mushroo ... -particlesStrawberries, mushrooms with Cesium-137 found in Northern California; 5 of 6 items in food chain sampling test have radioactive particles
http://news.yahoo.com/fukushima-radiati ... 02609.htmlRadioactive material from the Fukushima nuclear disaster has been found in tiny sea creatures and ocean water some 186 miles (300 kilometers) off the coast of Japan, revealing the extent of the release and the direction pollutants might take in a future environmental disaster.
In some places, the researchers from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) discovered cesium radiation hundreds to thousands of times higher than would be expected naturally, with ocean eddies and larger currents both guiding the "radioactive debris" and concentrating it.
With these results, detailed today (April 2) in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the team estimates it will take at least a year or two for the radioactive material released at Fukushima to get across the Pacific Ocean.

Wikipedia schreibt:
Materials collected during April 2011 from Japan also contained Iodine 131. Soils and settled dusts were collected from outdoor and inside homes, and also from used children's shoes. High levels of cesium were found at the shoelaces. US air filter and dusts samples did not contain hot particles, except for air samples collected in Seattle, Washington in April 2011. Dusts particles contaminated with radioactive cesium were found more than 100 miles from the Fukushima-site, and could be detected at the US west coast
